I had the joy of photographing baby Holden at 16 days old and he was such a rockstar! I don’t know that I’ve ever had a baby sleep as soundly as he did. I saw him open his eyes for a split second during the session and that was it. He let me pose him in every position imaginable. He liked sleeping on the beanbag, in the props, and in his parents’ arms. He was the most laid back newborn I’ve ever photographed, and a snuggly little sweetheart, too. We photographed Holden in a couple of hats and besides that, the majority of the setups were just baby and blanket. I love how classic and traditional his photos look as a result. I do love some props but there is just something beautiful about the simplicity of a baby on a blanket. You can’t go wrong with classic!
We started the session with a few photos of Holden with his parents.
After the parent photos, we moved on to photos of just Holden. His mom brought the little bunny hat and he looked so cute in it. We even caught a little smile!
Holden’s mom also brought this adorable basket, and I think I’m going to have to add one to my prop collection because I love the way it photographs.
