Just a few days after I found out I was expecting my daughter Madeline, my friend Brittany called to tell me she was pregnant, too! Our due dates were just 2 days apart, and it was so nice to have a friend to talk to about each pregnancy milestone. Unfortunately, because Brittany lives in Jacksonville and I was already overdue with Madeline when her son Vince was born, I wasn’t able to take his newborn portraits. I didn’t even get to meet Vince until his first birthday party, which is such a shame! I traveled to Jacksonville for Brittany’s baby shower and she came to Tallahassee for mine, but once the babies were born, life got crazy busy and it took awhile before we were able to visit and let the babies meet. Our families spent a few days together in Jacksonville, going to the zoo and swimming and celebrating Vince’s 1st birthday. (One of these days, I might even get around to blogging his 1st birthday party photos.) The week after Vince’s party was Madeline’s first birthday party and Brittany and her family traveled to Tallahassee to celebrate with us. While they were here, I was able to take Vince’s 12 month portraits at a local park. We had so much fun chasing him around, and he wore us out! I have photographed dozens of 12 month olds and I’ve never seen one move as quickly as Vince! He is just such a sweetheart and I’m so glad I finally got to photograph him and spend some time with his sweet family. Here are a few of my favorites from his 12 month session.
